About Us

Thank you for visiting Petro Joe's.  My name is Joey Whiteside and this is a picture of our family near the "Mile High" swinging bridge atop Grandfather Mountain in Western North Carolina.  I have been buying and selling collectible items since I was a kid.  It all started out with baseball cards and the daily trips on a bmx bike to our local gas station to purchase ballcards and the weekend trips to flea markets/card shops to buy/sell/trade.  My Dad purchased our families first Mustang when I was 13 and I purchased my first Mustang at 16.    My wife and I both were raised in houses built in the mid 1800s and we share our passion for antiques (as do our children).  We have been collecting since we were young and are constantly hunting for that next great item.  Our main interests are in petroliana as well as early North Carolina Highway Signs.  We enjoy spending time with our family and we are actively involved with our church.
